Soccer Game Preview: John Marshall vs. Wickliffe

The John Marshall Lawyers will take on the Wickliffe Blue Devils at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

John Marshall is headed into Saturday's match hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lincoln West. The shutout was out of character for John Marshall seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Meanwhile, there was early excitement for Wickliffe after they claimed the first goal on Tuesday, however, they wouldn't score again. They fell 3-1 to Cuyahoga Heights. That's two games in a row now that Wickliffe have lost by exactly two goals.

John Marshall's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Wickliffe, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Everything went John Marshall's way against Wickliffe when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as John Marshall made off with a 5-2 victory. Do the Lawyers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blue Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
