Macon County is a perfect 10-0 against Red Boiling Springs since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will welcome the Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Macon County has four straight victories, Red Boiling Springs has nine straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Macon County barely beat Portland the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Panthers on Tuesday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Matthew Wheeley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gage Jones, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Braylon Flowers, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Red Boiling Springs' offense. They came up short against Gordonsville on Tuesday, falling 15-0. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Macon County's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Red Boiling Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
