Preview: Panguitch Bobcats vs. Escalante Moquis
Panguitch is 10-0 against Escalante since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Panguitch Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Escalante Moquis at 7:00 p.m. Panguitch is looking to tack on another W to their nine-game streak on the road.
Last Wednesday, Panguitch didn't have too much trouble with Piute at home as they won 56-42.
Panguitch's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daxton Miller, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cache Eyre, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Escalante scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They claimed a resounding 77-39 victory over Telos at home. The win was some much needed relief for Escalante as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Escalante's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kendal Gardner, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Rayce Jenkins, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Panguitch's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Escalante, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
Everything came up roses for Panguitch against Escalante in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 80-25 win. With Panguitch ahead 52-16 at the half, the match was all but over already.
