Volleyball Recap: Falls Lake Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Falls Lake had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Jones Trojans 3-0 on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Firebirds as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Maggie Penn was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 23 digs and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last four times she's played.

Penn wasn't the only good servers: Falls Lake was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in 21 consecutive matches.

Falls Lake's victory bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Jones, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season.

Falls Lake will be playing at home against Cape Hatteras at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jones does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
