Soccer Game Preview: Warren Township vs. Libertyville

The Warren Township Blue Devils will head out to challenge the Libertyville Wildcats at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Libertyville better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Warren Township's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Warren Township really gets things going. The Blue Devils' defense stepped up to hand Lake Zurich a 3-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Libertyville waltzed into their match on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Cougars as they made off with a 9-0 win. Libertyville's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last three games.

Their offense was hitting Vernon Hills from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Shea Krakowski led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Warren Township has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those eight matchups. As for Libertyville, they pushed their record up to 13-1-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Warren Township might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Libertyville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
