Softball Recap: Henry Clay Drops Season-High Score on Frankfort

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Henry Clay). They were the clear victors by a 21-3 margin over the Frankfort Panthers on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.

Jillian Franco was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyndal Brewster, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.

Henry Clay always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .765. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Henry Clay's victory bumped their record up to 9-13. As for Frankfort, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Henry Clay will face off against Scott County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so the Blue Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Frankfort, they will square off against Garrard County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
