Basketball Recap: Oakton Comes Up Short

Oakton suffered their biggest defeat since December 11, 2024 on Monday. They lost 62-42 to the South Lakes Seahawks. The Cougars just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Oakton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for South Lakes, their victory was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Oakton Cougars face off against the Centreville Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for South Lakes, they will welcome James Madison at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Lakes has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 188 points over their last three matchups.
