Recap: Omaha Central Eagles vs. Bellevue East Chieftains
The Omaha Central Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 75-45 win over Bellevue East. The result was nothing new for Omaha Central, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Omaha Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Devin Holmon led the charge by scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of DaShawn Prince, who scored nine points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Bellevue East lost, one person who can't be blamed is Malou Atak. Despite the final result, he scored nine points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Atak has scored all season.
Omaha Central's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Bellevue East, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Omaha Central will take on Millard West at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Millard West is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Bellevue East, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fremont at 5:45 p.m. on January 11th. Hopefully Fremont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Saturday.
