Baseball Game Preview: York County Tech Spartans vs. Hanover Nighthawks

York County Tech and Hanover are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. York County Tech will be playing in front of their home fans against Hanover at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. York County Tech will be strutting in after a victory while Hanover will be coming in after a defeat.

York County Tech is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Delone Catholic 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted against the Squires since April 24, 2019.

York County Tech saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Dedrick, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Dedrick a new career-high in RBI (three). Another was Jacob Combs, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hanover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Littlestown.

York County Tech was able to grind out a solid win over Hanover in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 10-6. Does York County Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hanover turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
