Football Game Preview: Kingfisher Yellowjackets vs. North Rock Creek Cougars + Official Tickets

The Kingfisher Yellowjackets will challenge the North Rock Creek Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Kingfisher will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points last Friday, then bounced right back against Star-Spencer on Friday. The Yellowjackets blew past the Bobcats, posting a 42-6 victory. The Yellowjackets' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Kingfisher found their leader in freshman Collin Farrar, who picked up 49 receiving yards and two scores. Kaden Cline made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Meanwhile, North Rock Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Purcell on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 25-20 win.

Kingfisher better keep an eye on Landon Rosser. He was instrumental in North Rock Creek's win, throwing for 251 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Rosser's passing game has become a key predictor of the Cougars' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise.

North Rock Creek's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.7 points on average over those games. As for Kingfisher, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Kingfisher didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against North Rock Creek when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 45-41 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Cougars' Caleb Hawkins, who rushed for 242 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.1 yards per carry, and also threw for 37 yards and one touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Yellowjackets to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
