Basketball Recap: Gaven Kraut's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Terry Sanford over Overhills

After flying high against Western Harnett last Tuesday, Terry Sanford came back down to earth. The Terry Sanford Bulldogs fell to the Overhills Jaguars 55-49. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gaven Kraut, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and six steals. Those six steals gave Kraut a new career-high. Jourdan Browning was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Deshaun Barton had an outrageously good game for Overhills as he almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ja?Von Motta, who put up 14 points and five assists.

Terry Sanford's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Overhills, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-5.

Terry Sanford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-62 defeat against Northwood Temple Academy on the 18th. As for Overhills, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-45 loss against Freedom Christian Academy on the 18th.
