Rittman made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Smithville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Indians were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Smithies on Monday. Considering the Indians have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Caleb Smith made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Spencer Welch was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Brayden Louk was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Rittman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smithville only posted an OBP of .486.

Rittman now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Smithville, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Rittman will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Smithies: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
