The Hudson Cobras will take on the Sunlake Seahawks at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hudson is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Hudson turned things around against Central on Tuesday. They never let the Bears get on the board and left with a 10-0 win.
Miley Clarke was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Jesse Anderson, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
Hudson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central only posted a batting average of .059.
Meanwhile, Sunlake came up short against River Ridge on Wednesday and fell 8-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Seahawks in their meetings with the Royal Knights: they've now lost six in a row.
Zoey Cropper was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Abigail Avant was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Analese Lacquey was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Sunlake's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Hudson, their victory bumped their record up to 2-6.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Hudson has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Sunlake struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Hudson couldn't quite finish off Sunlake in their previous matchup back in February and fell 3-1. Will Hudson have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
