Cole Valley Christian extended their winning streak to six on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 21-3 in the process. Everything went their way against the Weiser Wolverines as they made off with a 13-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Blake Wilson and Carson Kile made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Wilson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kile didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. What's more, Wilson posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. At the plate, Wilson went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Kile went 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Eli Hamby and Tyler Romine did most of the damage at the plate: Hamby got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Romine went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Romine has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Cooper Kollmann, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and two RBI.
Cole Valley Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
As for Weiser, they dropped their record down to 5-14-1 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly 12 runs.
On Weiser's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Black, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
As of now, neither Cole Valley Christian nor the Wolverines have any future games scheduled.
