Baseball Game Preview: Spring Creek Gators vs. Faith Christian Academy Conquerors

The Spring Creek Gators will square off against the Faith Christian Academy Conquerors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Spring Creek has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Spring Creek fell victim to North Johnston and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 11-0 to the Panthers. The Gators have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Spring Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nathan Jackson, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Faith Christian Academy got the win against Bethel Assembly Christian Academy on Friday by a conclusive 17-6. The Conquerors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 11 runs or more this season.

Chase Moen made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Moen was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, he posted four RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jessie Carrillo, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Jaiden Bond also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Faith Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bethel Assembly Christian Academy only posted an OBP of .375.

Faith Christian Academy pushed their record up to 8-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Spring Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
