Volleyball Recap: Sports Leadership & Management Falls Short of St. John Paul II Academy in the Playoffs

Sports Leadership & Management and St. John Paul II Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Sports Leadership & Management had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Pandas in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 24-26, 25-22, 25-12.

Leading St. John Paul II Academy to victory were Emily Rodriguez and Meallan Gunther. Rodriguez had seven digs and five aces, while Gunther had 19 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Gunther a new career-high.

Sports Leadership & Management's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for St. John Paul II Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7.

Sports Leadership & Management does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. John Paul II Academy, they will square off against First Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
