Preview: Ka'u vs. Pahoa
Ka'u have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. It's playoff time, and they and Pahoa are set to clash on Saturday at 1:00 PM. Pahoa will need to watch out since Ka'u have now posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Ka'u might be getting used to good results now that the team has five wins in a row. They put a hurting on Kohala to the tune of 58-14. Ka'u found their leader in underclassman sophomore Bobby Pilanca-Emmsley, who rushed for 178 yards and 4 touchdowns. This marked the 5th game in which Pilanca-Emmsley has rushed for over 100 yards.
Last Friday, Pahoa faced Kohala in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pahoa made easy work of Kohala and carried off a 34-6 win. The rankings were on Pahoa's side, but they didn't forecast quite such a lopsided result.
Everything went Ka'u's way against Pahoa the last time the two teams met as they made off with a 58-28 victory. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
