It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Carroll had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Fort Wayne Snider Panthers an 11-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but the Chargers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
The result came thanks to Taylor Danley's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 19 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kaelyn Kinsey was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Izzy Rapson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Carroll kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.
