Big North - Colonial recap Oct. 9, 2012
Wayne Hills led Big North - Colonial in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on Teaneck. Justin DeGroat threw for 203 yards and two touchdowns and ran for five yards in the win.
Erik Moskal was the best wideout in the league this week as the Patriots bested the Highwaymen. Moskal racked up seven receptions for 126 yards. Matt Schunke helped Wayne Hills' passing attack out by catching two balls for 31 yards.
Isaac Stobbe made the biggest impact on defense this week as Northern Highlands beat West Milford. The 5-foot-10 senior racked up 1.5 sacks.
Brandon Latierno was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 184 yards as the Highlanders bested Teaneck. Bobby Brown also contributed to the rushing game with 93 yards on the ground.
Wayne Valley's Luke Primerano and Anthony Biondi have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Big North - Colonial in both passing and receiving yards. Primerano has thrown for 522 yards this season, while Biondi, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 10 catches for 275 yards. Brown from Northern Highlands leads the league in rushing with 580 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Indians take on Paramus. As it stands, Wayne Valley is in first, while the Spartans are in third.
Chris Locurto's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,690 from 6,555. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 24-0 victory over the Highlanders last week.
