Softball Recap: Wayne Ends Even with Empire

Wayne's season-opener on Thursday wasn't quite what the team was looking for considering the end result. Neither they nor Empire could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

With that tie, Empire's record moves to 5-2-1.

Coming up, Empire will host Merritt at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wayne will be paying especially close attention to Empire's contest: after Empire faces off against Verden, they'll take on Wayne again at 7:00 p.m. on September 3.
