Softball Preview: Summit Spartans vs. Dickson County Cougars        
        
		
            
 Summit and Dickson County are an even 5-5 against one another  since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Summit Spartans will be staying on the road  on Wednesday to face off against the Dickson County Cougars. Summit knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy  run totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Dickson County likes a good challenge.
 On Monday, Summit needed a bit of extra time to put away Centennial. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of  12-9. Summit's victory was all the more impressive since Centennial was averaging only 3.96 runs allowed on the season.
  Addison Johnson tossed a big game,   pitching five innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 At the plate,  Ashlyn Easley was  incredible,  scoring four  runs and  stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of  Anne Marie Richards, who  went 3-for-5 with three  RBI and two  doubles.
 Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Dickson County's offense. They lost  10-0 to Ravenwood on Monday.
 Dickson County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Sabrina Potter, who  went 1-for-2 with a  stolen base.
 Summit has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won ten of their last 11 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record  this season. As for Dickson County, they dropped their record down to 7-11 with that  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Everything went Summit's way against Dickson County in their previous matchup  back in April of 2023 as Summit made off with  a  7-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Summit since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
