Baseball Recap: Warren Comes Up Short

Warren extended their losing streak to seven on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-7 in the process. They came up short against the Harbor Creek Huskies, falling 12-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dragons of the 9-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2022.

Warren saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tage Wyman, who went 2-for-3 with one double. Brady Shene also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

As for Harbor Creek, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Warren and 4-6 Meadville.

On Harbor Creek's side, the team relied heavily on Heath Betza, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Tobias Vahey, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Warren is set to take on their familiar foe Meadville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Harbor Creek will face off against rival Cathedral Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
