Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Screamin Eagles vs. West Side Eagles

Hillcrest hasn't had much luck against West Side recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Screamin Eagles will challenge the Eagles at 2:30 p.m.

Hillcrest is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game two weeks ago. They fell 8-3 to Highland.

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, West Side rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Falcons as they made off with a 19-4 victory. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

West Side got a massive performance out of Max Gipson, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Gipson has posted since back in March. Brooks Hipp was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Side kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.

West Side's win bumped their record up to 22-5. As for Hillcrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Hillcrest couldn't quite finish off West Side in their previous meeting back in March and fell 10-8. Can the Screamin Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
