Basketball Recap: Lakeland Christian Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lakeland Christian Academy can now relate to. They took a 44-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Wayne Canterbury Cavaliers. Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aaron Gause, who posted 13 points. Gause continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Micah Martin, who put up 11 points.

Fort Wayne Canterbury's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aran Padmalingam led the charge by shooting 54% from the field to rack up 18 points and six rebounds. Padmalingam is becoming a predictor of Fort Wayne Canterbury's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 2-1 (and 7-13 when he doesn't). Reed Hayes was another key player, putting up 13 points and eight boards.
