Basketball Game Preview: Ironwood Eagles vs. Lake Havasu Knights

The Ironwood Eagles will take on the Lake Havasu Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Ironwood's favor as the squad sits on 18 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Lake Havasu has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Ironwood will head into Wednesday's contest on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Kellis on Wednesday. Everything went Ironwood's way against Kellis as Ironwood made off with an 89-67 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Lake Havasu had to suffer through a 84-54 loss at the hands of Sunrise Mountain. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Mustangs are ranked 120th).

Ironwood will need focus on slowing down Ethan Royes, one of several Lake Havasu players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 11 points. The dominant performance also gave Royes a new career-high in blocks (two). Halo Jump was another key player, putting up nine points.

Ironwood is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.7 points. As for Lake Havasu, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.

Everything came up roses for Ironwood against Lake Havasu in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the team secured an 85-40 win. Will Ironwood repeat their success, or does Lake Havasu have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
