Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Altoona Railroaders. This was payback for the Red Hawks, who suffered a 10-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Sam De Jager was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. De Jager was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Oliver Remus, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Mitchell Thell was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau pushed their record up to 15-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Altoona, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-12.

Looking ahead, Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau will be playing in front of their home fans against West Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Altoona does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
