The Arcadia Titans will square off against the Paradise Honors Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Arcadia is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Arcadia is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Mica Mountain on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunderbolts.
Arcadia saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucy Dreier, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Paradise Honors entered their tilt with Greenway on Wednesday with 13 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 14. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Demons. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 6, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Olivia Jimenez Facio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Gabrielle Marquez was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Colby, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Paradise Honors pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.9 runs over those games. As for Arcadia, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-10-1.
Both Arcadia and Paradise Honors just can't seem to miss. The Titans have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. However, it's not like Paradise Honors struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.5 hits.
