Baseball Recap: Bourne Canalmen vs. Case Cardinals

Bourne had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-9 to make it 11. They lost 10-0 to the Case Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-2 back in April.

As for Case, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games.

For Case's part, the result came thanks to Bryce Harris's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up 11 Ks. Harris has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Case got a massive performance out of Aaron Sellers, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Sellers a new career-high. Lucas Beaulieu was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Bourne will take on rival Greater New Bedford RVT at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Case is set to face off against their familiar foe Old Rochester Regional at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.
