Basketball Game Preview: Eastmark Firebirds vs. ALA - Gilbert North Eagles

Eastmark hasn't had much luck against ALA - Gilbert North recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eastmark Firebirds are taking a road trip to challenge the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Monday, Eastmark was beaten by Mica Mountain 83-56. The Firebirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for ALA - Gilbert North, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 70-42 victory over Poston Butte. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Broncos are ranked 221st), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

ALA - Gilbert North's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Eastmark, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Eastmark couldn't quite finish off ALA - Gilbert North in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 60-57. Can Eastmark avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
