South Summit is 0-10 against Grantsville since April of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. South Summit will square off against Grantsville at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

South Summit is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Hillcrest on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Owen Mair made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Mair wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Bednerik, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Hayden Simmons was another, scoring a run.

Like South Summit, Grantsville also got a great game from a two-way player: Jordan Fawson. He struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Fawson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Cooper Castagno and Guhner Kimber did most of the damage at the plate: Castagno scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Kimber went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Castagno also hit a double, marking his first of the season.
