William Blount won against Maryville on Wednesday with three runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The William Blount Governors beat the West Rebels by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Governors, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Katee Owens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, William Blount saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chloe Merriman, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. Trinity Johnson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
