Arp win going away against Edgewood

Recap: Arp Tigers vs. Edgewood Bulldogs

The Arp Tigers fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They strolled past Edgewood with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 42-24. For Arp, this counts as revenge for the 35-14 defeat Edgewood walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2022.

Frank Smith was his usual excellent self, rushing for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 243 yards and four touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes. Smith was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarcus Wade, who picked up 114 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Arp has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Edgewood, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5.

Arp will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on De Kalb at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. As for Edgewood, they will be playing at home against West Rusk at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Rusk will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
