While Hillcrest's win against Northside wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hillcrest Patriots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Northside Rams on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won five in a row.

Hillcrest's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Northside, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hillcrest will face off against Hueytown at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hueytown's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Hillcrest's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Northside, they will head out to face off against Hamilton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
