Softball Recap: Haughton Wins Going Away Against Simsboro

Haughton never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Simsboro Tigers with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.

Charlee Prothro was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kylie Small, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Haughton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Simsboro only posted an OBP of .100.

The win made it two in a row for Haughton and bumps their season record up to 11-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.0 runs over those games. As for Simsboro, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haughton will host Parkway at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Simsboro, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Bastrop at 5:30 p.m.
