Basketball Recap: Central Piles Up the Points Against Brookwood

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Central on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Brookwood Panthers out of the water with a 53-25 final score. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 23 points or more this season.

Central was led to victory by Lariah Spencer and Michal Steward. Spencer shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards, while Steward went 6 of 8 on her way to 16 points and four steals. That's the most points Steward has posted since back in November of 2024.

Central has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Brookwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brookwood, they and Northside will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Northside has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
