Softball Recap: Good Samaritan HomeSchool Comes Up Short

After flying high against Acadiana Christian last Tuesday, Good Samaritan HomeSchool came back down to earth. The Hornets fell 6-2 to the Christian Home Educators Fellowship Patriots on Friday. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Patriots earlier this season, when they won 16-10.

Kinley Fife was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 19 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Fife wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Good Samaritan HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Christian Home Educators Fellowship, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

As of now, neither Good Samaritan HomeSchool nor Christian Home Educators Fellowship have any future games scheduled.
