Basketball Recap: Kate Stratton Key Part of Team Effort in Sailors Win

The Hendrick Hudson Sailors strolled past Poughkeepsie Day with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 50-36. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sailors.

Hendrick Hudson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kate Stratton, who almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. With that strong performance, Stratton is now averaging an impressive 2.2 blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Elyse Smith, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.

Hendrick Hudson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Hendrick Hudson's victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
