Soccer Game Preview: Olympic vs. Ballantyne Ridge

The Olympic Trojans will venture away from home to take on the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Olympic's offense. They came up short against South Mecklenburg on Thursday, falling 9-0. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Sabres: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Ballantyne Ridge also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 9-0 to Ardrey Kell on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Knights are ranked 12th).

Ballantyne Ridge has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. Olympic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4-2.
