Xavier College Prep had a senior duo take command as Dominique Nesland scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals and Jasmine Olivar scored 13 points along with seven steals and six assists. Nesland hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Irene (Noelle) Guiamatsia was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Despite the defeat, Basha saw an underclassman step up: Grace Beckler scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 37.5% of Basha's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Xavier College Prep pushed their record up to 16-3 with that victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 45 points. As for Basha, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-10.
Xavier College Prep and Hamilton will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Hamilton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Basha, they will head out on the road to take on Corona del Sol at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Corona del Sol is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
