Softball Recap: Almeta Crawford's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Almeta Crawford dropped their record down to 8-7 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Sealy Tigers, falling 17-2. The Chargers were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Tigers' pitcher proved too tough.

Tiffany Rodriguez was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

As for Sealy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games.

On Sealy's side, the team relied heavily on Kara Kram13, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI Kram13 has posted since back in April of 2024. Caylee Syzdek was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Almeta Crawford has already played their next contest, a 30-26 defeat against Stafford on the 21st. As for Sealy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 15-2 victory against Caldwell on the 24th.
