Basketball Game Preview: Bethel Academy vs. Clinton Christian Academy Patriots

Bethel Academy will face off against the Clinton Christian Academy Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Bethel Academy is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Center Place back in December of 2024 (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Bethel Academy lost 40-19 to Center Place. Bethel Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kayla Touokong, who posted six points along with seven boards and seven blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Liberty Atkins, who earned seven points.

Meanwhile, Clinton Christian Academy hadn't done well against Heartland recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Clinton Christian Academy snuck past Heartland with a 40-35 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Patriots.

Bethel Academy better keep an eye on Clara Hyke. She was instrumental in Clinton Christian Academy's win, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards. Hyke is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Audrey Foster, who had eight points.

Clinton Christian Academy's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for Bethel Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
