Baseball Recap: Profile Comes Up Short

If Profile was feeling good fresh off their 14-0 takedown of Groveton on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots fell just short of the Moultonborough Academy Panthers by a score of 10-8 on Friday. The Patriots were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Tanner Schmarr put in work no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Profile is 3-1 when Schmarr posts two or more runs, but 3-12 otherwise.

In other batting news, Bradyn Stone made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Profile's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Moultonborough Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-9.

While Profile had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
