Basketball Recap: Lifegate Christian Takes a Loss

Lifegate Christian came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They took a blow against the Annapolis Christian Academy Warriors, falling 71-44. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last nine times they've met.

Rowe Hansen and Levi Grimm certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Hansen posted eight points and 18 boards, while Grimm scored 13 points. That's the most rebounds Hansen has posted since back in February of 2024. Roby Holdman also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Even though they lost, Lifegate Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Jeremiah Cavazos had an outrageously good game for Annapolis Christian Academy as he went 9 for 11 from beyond the arc to rack up 31 points. Annapolis Christian Academy is undefeated when Cavazos posts 15 or more points, but 8-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Gwaltney, who put up eight points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Lifegate Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season.

Lifegate Christian has already played their next contest, a 64-50 loss against Sunnybrook Christian on the 4th. As for Annapolis Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 48-33 win against Calvary Chapel Christian Academy on the 1st.
