Joshua Brinton put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April on Thursday. He struck out two batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Brinton and Berlin Brothersvalley will face off against Fannett Metal at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mountaineers will be headed into this one with a sizable disadvantage in the rankings (they're ranked 325 places lower in Pennsylvania), but they're not letting that get them down.
