South Salem is 9-1 against North Salem since January of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The South Salem Saxons and the North Salem Vikings will meet in a classic North v. South matchup at 7:45 p.m. South Salem knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully North Salem likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, South Salem lost to Sprague at home by a 83-64 margin. While losing is never fun, the Saxons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Olympians are ranked eighth).

Meanwhile, North Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 64-48 to McNary.

South Salem now has a losing record of 10-11. As for North Salem, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

South Salem came up short against North Salem in their previous matchup on February 4th, falling 90-78. Can South Salem avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
