Basketball Recap: Wellington Takes a Loss

Wellington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 43-28 to the Western Wildcats.

Western got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tearra Mortimer out in front who posted 11 points and seven boards. Those seven rebounds gave Mortimer a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jakaylia Roland, who put up four points along with seven boards and six steals.

Wellington's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Western, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Wellington didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 46-37 defeat against Jupiter on the 22nd. Western has also already played their next contest, a 52-36 loss against Cardinal Gibbons on the 21st.
