Basketball Recap: Soldotna Takes a Loss

Soldotna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 45-35 to the Kenai Central Kardinals. The match marked the Stars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Soldotna's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Kenai Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

Soldotna won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eagle River at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Soldotna is facing Eagle River at the right time seeing as Eagle River is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Kenai Central, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Cook Inlet Academy at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Cook Inlet Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Kenai Central likes a good challenge.
