Baseball Game Preview: Northview Academy Cougars vs. Fulton Falcons

The Northview Academy Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Fulton Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Northview Academy has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Fulton will arrive with ten straight wins.

Northview Academy came up short against Loudon on Friday, falling 11-1.

While Fulton didn't have the best season last year (they finished 13-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Varsity Opponent a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Fulton's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for Northview Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Northview Academy took their victory against Fulton when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 15-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Northview Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
