Campo Verde waltzed into their contest on Thursday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mountain Pointe Pride 37-0. Given the Coyotes' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona flag football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while the Pride are ranked 39th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Amaya Moreno gave her former team something to remember she by as she threw for 239 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 32 yards for Campo Verde. Moreno is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: she's passed for at least five every time she's taken the field this season. Claire McMahon was Moreno's top target, picking up 49 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Campo Verde's defense stepped up as well, laying out Ariana Acosta ten times. The heavy lifting was done by Payton Davis and Maddie Wilson, who racked up eight sacks between them. Jaiyana Bogan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Campo Verde's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Mountain Pointe, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Campo Verde will be taking part in a tournament against Casteel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mountain Pointe, they will venture away from home to take on Desert Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
