Everything went their way against the Thomas Walker Pioneers on Friday as Claiborne made off with a 16-3 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Sam Wilson made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Garrett Keiter was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Claiborne is undefeated when Keiter posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-4 otherwise.
